At “WayBetter Health” we are committed to bringing you the best and most up-to-date information to help you make the best decision regarding your health. In order to achieve the best results it is important to have a plan that incorporates multiple approaches to improve your DNA. A lot of people would call these approaches anti-aging strategies but what we are really talking about is keeping your DNA as healthy as possible. The anti-aging issues will take care of themselves.
The plan that we put forth here at “WayBetter Health” incorporates the 12 hallmarks of aging, which is to say, the 12 hallmarks that will make your DNA healthier. The 12 hallmarks are as follows. It gets a bit technical but we’ll walk you through each one. Click on each element for a detailed explanation.
THE 12 HALLMARKS OF AGING
- Deregulated nutrient signaling
- Loss of proteostasis
- Mitochondrial dysfunction
- Telomere attrition
- Epigenetic alterations
- Genome instability
- Cellular senescence
- Stem cell exhaustion
- Altered Intercellular communication
- Chronic Inflammation
- Diasabled Macroautophagy
- Dysbiosis
These 12 elements are considered the fundamental elements associated with aging (1). Aging for humans and most organisms is a multifaceted process. There is no single gene or process that is involved that leads to aging. I would look at aging as an accumulation of events that leads to aging of an organism which ultimately leads to frailty and death. If it was just a single gene or a single process you would expect that after a billion humans have walked the earth that someone would have beat the odds and lived 200 or more years but that, as we know, is not the case.
WayBetter Health strives to bring you the science behind what is happening with a focus on restoring your DNA to a more youthful, healthy and energetic state. Understanding our bodies starts with understanding the most elementary part of our existence which is the code of life that exists in our 3 billion base pairs of DNA. That’s a huge number but it is what makes us human, live, laugh, love and ponder our place in the cosmos.
